A Roaring Good Time is a consumer D Magazine event that centers around Texas spirits & liqueurs cocktails and a good time! This visual identity surrounded a theme, the "20's Prohibition Era," thinking of flappers, speakeasy, art deco imagery. Last year's imagery was filled of heavy beautiful illustrations that were a lot more bolder. My goal was to achieve a look that was just as engaging but with a more clean glamorous look & feel to be used for different platforms.
The goal was to have an event look & feelthat lit up the environmment and accurately depicting the theme without being cliche. This would be rooted in the typography, colors, and illustrations. The typography was arranged differently in many forms till finally ending in the final lock-up. As were the colors tested through different ranges, hues and tones before arriving to a tasteful blend.
Final Typography Design
Going through color variations, this was the perfect land for an updated, modern, inviting, art deco colors. The typography design was narrowed down with a nice slant and decorative swirls that matched with seamlessly with the secondary type font. The primary font choice was able to showcase the strong architecture straight lines art deco patterns commonly have. In contrast having the secondary font choice allowed the design to flow through the audience's eye from left to right. The colors and typography lock-up repeated through out different assets and was able to be manipulated and scaled down in a vertical to horizontal layout.
