The July 2024 Issue released a short piece on the Best Tex-Mex in Dallas picked and review by food critic, Brian Reinhart. This round-up was cut short and needed to expand online for a full evergreen guide to call home.
This evergreen guide was created through Figma. This piece started through the collage primarily for the sake of creating a fun opening tone. Tex-Mex is often portrayed as a "fun margarita time" and the goal was to make this be just as fun, but just as sophisticated and the food review given to each place. Each part of the guide was made by designing components that gave the user a great experience navigating through each location through imagery, category, and vibe. Users are able to navigate by scroll and filter through the guide by neighborhood and category such as healthy options, top tier, and more!
Design Components & Detail Page
For this project we only needed to established one variant component that would be applied to a table press guide. The detail page would show a short review and where to find location as well. This process keeps the editorial writing style while displaying the cards in an attractive style.
Online Editorial Collage
The artistic style incorporated funky shapes that resembled geometric hispanic pueblo designs. These shapes are reused throughout the collage along with other shapes.

Pushing this artistic style helped determine the movement to make a short reel that displayed the fun interactive way of the illustration.
